Zombies Trump Vampires in Time Magazine

Friday, June 19th, 2009

Time magazine is also comparing Zombies and Vampires. Lev Grossman (ironic name for a man writing about zombies) points out the obvious fact that no one wants to sleep with Zombies. I would add with the exception of Zombie Honeymoon and Otto, but who could resist those mighty cute zombie boys?

In Zombies are the New Vampires, Grossman declares Zombies the official monster of the recession, after all “what monster could be better suited to our current level of ecological anxiety? Zombies are biodegradable, locally sourced and sustainable — they’re made of 100% recycled human.”

amanda apocalypse

Yesterday I mentioned Amanda Apocalypse: a self-professed “zombie nerd” who stars as one of the zombies in Undead in the Night.

Today, after her stellar performance for the media conference, she is the Malmö Lund City Paper cover girl! Judging from the published photos which entirely ignore the stunning vampires who lurked around the press, “zombies” are the sexier creature these days, at least for the author who erroneously conflated my definitions of vampire and zombie – a difficult mistake to make.

Download the pdf file – 2 pages including cover.

Monstrous Swedish TV Spot

Monday, May 25th, 2009

The full article from SVT, Zombievandring i mörkret is online! The TV spot features my ever-frightening vampiric and zombified friends Märta and Clara (V’s), Tom and Amanda (Z’s). Notice Tom’s vacant hungry stare, you wouldn’t want to meet him alone in the dark forest…

Auditioning the Undead

Thursday, May 7th, 2009

For the past 2 days we auditioned many zombies, vampires, and victims in small groups, for Undead in the Night at Lilith Performance Studio, Sweden.

Pictured below is a particularly energetic group of young women working with Artistic Director Elin Lundgren, who together hunted mercilessly and attacked their helpless victim (photos Petter Pettersson):

Read more about the auditions at
, by Karin Arbsjö. The article is in Swedish only, but includes a slideshow and sound “bite” (pun intended) of the auditions.
